Federation and Player Eligibility International Competitions
The following text is taken from the CMAS: PROCEDURES AND OBLIGATIONS FOR THE ORGANISATION OF UNDERWATER HOCKEY COMPETITIONS & CHAMPIONSHIPS
CMAS have recently issued a change in their age criteria for this event.
The following declaration has been issued:

An International competition may be registered as a “World Championship” or “Continental Championship” with CMAS if the following requirements are met:
2.3.1.1 Teams are representative of their Country/ Federation
2.3.1.2 A minimum of five (5) Federations team enter in each division
2.3.1.3 A minimum of Men’s and Women’s division
2.3.2 Federation Eligibility for Tournaments
2.3.2.1 Only Nations that have their Federations properly registered with CMAS may compete in a CMAS
tournament.
2.3.3 Athletes must either:
2.3.3.1 Hold citizenship of the country for which they are intending to play; OR
2.3.3.2 Submit proof that they have been resident in that country for a minimum of 12 months in the previous 18 months (prior to the competition); AND
2.3.3.3 Has purchased a CMAS Athlete’s license.
2.3.4 Athletes holding dual citizenship must choose to compete for only one Federation. This choice obliges the athlete to remain with that Federation until the requirements of either of 2.3.3.1 or 2.3.3.2 and 2.3.3.3 above
are met.
